Systems are created to solve problems. One can think of the systems approach as an organized way of dealing with a problem. In this dynamic world, the subject System Analysis and Design (SAD), mainly deals with the software development activities.
SYSTEM
A system is a linear or sequential collection of subsystems/part/components that work together to achieve specific goal, or multiple goals, by accepting input, processing it and producing output in an organized manner
A collection of components that work together to realize some objectives forms a system. Basically there are three major components in every system, namely input, processing and output.
A system normally has subsystem and functions with n an environment. A unit within a system that share some or all the characteristics of that system are called subsystem.
Example:-
Computer is a system with physical components like keyboard, mouse, scanner, monitor, memory chips, printers and connecting cables and the basic goal is processing of data.
Systems Analysis:- Analysis specifies what the system should do.
Systems Analysis:- Analysis specifies what the system should do.
- It is a process of collecting and interpreting facts, identifying the problems, and decomposition of a system into its components.
- System analysis is conducted for the purpose of studying a system or its parts in order to identify its objectives.
- It is a problem solving technique that improves the system and ensures that all the components of the system work efficiently to accomplish their purpose.
Systems Design:- System Design focuses on how to accomplish the objective of the system.
- It is a process of planning a new business system or replacing an existing system by defining its components or modules to satisfy the specific requirements. Before planning, you need to understand the old system thoroughly and determine how computers can best be used in order to operate efficiently.
